Here is the recipe to how I build my websites very fast and very cheap.
First, you need an effective, reasonable, reliable and easy to use hosting provider. After having tried a couple and not being satisfied, I searched the web for a long time and came up with Bluehost. I am not the kind of person who jumps on anything because it sounds cheap. I researched Bluehost in every way before I made my decision. And I don’t regret it. Bluehost provides unlimited storage space, unlimited file transfer and you can store as many domains as you like. And all of this for only $6.95/month. This is if you sign up and pay for 3 years in advance. I’m not fooling you here, I’m telling you this as it is.
One of the most important things about a good hosting provider is the dashboard/control panel. With Bluehost you get a customizable control panel with access to everything you need in any of your domains. You can transfer old or search for and buy new domains (com, net, org, us, biz, info) for only $10/year. I live in Norway and would have liked .no domains, but I have found out that .net works just as well. Besides, I don’t have to send in any company proof for that, which I have to with .no domains. Norwegian .no domains might come in Bluehost, though. You can configure and manage all email accounts (Up to 2500. Should be enough…). You have access to tons of promotional stuff for your websites, search engine optimization, shopping carts, etc. etc. But the most interesting and useful item to me, is the Simple Scripts. This is how I build my websites.
With Simple Scripts you can make a website in seconds. I have fallen in love with the free blog/website tool; WordPress, and all its themes. Simple Scripts is just a link in you Bluehost control panel. When you click it, you get an overview over all the possible scripts you can install on your domain. WordPress is one of them, and best of all, it’s free! To install WordPress, just click the link, and then “install”, and in seconds you have a website! Well, of course, you would want to pick a theme from the big theme selection at WordPress, and tweak it to your liking. After that, posting new pages and articles is a breeze. This page that you are reading now is exactly one of WordPress’ many themes. It took me about 5 minutes to set up.
